This impressive site is a Masonic dedication to George Washington, the first President of the United Sates, and highly revered Freemason. The monumental tower of this historic building soars 333 feet above Shooter's Hill. Designed by the inspiration of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria in Egypt, this nine floor building serves as a community center, museum, research center, library, performing arts concert hall, banquet hall, Masonic meeting site, and tourist destination. The Washington Metro provides easy access to the memorial. Just stop at the King Street/Old Town station from the Blue or Yellow lines, and the memorial will be only four blocks away.
