Rosslyn Chapel

Rosslyn Chapel is located in the village of Roslin, Midothian in Scotland. Founded in 1446, by Sir William St. Clair, 3rd Prince of Orkney, the chapel has been the center of much discourse about Freemasonry. This grand chapel contains thousands of highly ornate carvings that are said to depict scenes and symbology that refer to Scottish Culture, Christianity, and Freemasonry. Many ancient stories surround the chapel, such as the 18th century legend of the Apprentice Pillar, and those of the contents of the chapel's crypt. The Rosslyn Chapel has also been featured in Dan Brown's novel and subsequent move The Da Vinci Code, and in Ian Rankin's novel, Set in Dardness. This legendary site attracts curiosity and wonder from everywhere in the world, and welcomes you to share in it's rich history.
